As per the previous statements from customers, Bank Freedom would hold pre-authorizations for over 2 months. I brought a pre-order item from a retailer online, the retailer put and amount in the pre-authorization status with bank freedom, but never took the money out of my account because I cancelled by order within 3 days of placing the order. Called the retailer and they told me they sent a cancellation code to Bank Freedom to remove the pre-authorization status from my account. Per Tom at Bank Freedom they didn't receive this code and I would have to contact the retailer and have them fax over on their letterhead that the order was cancelled. The retailer was nice enough to fax over the information to Bank Freedom. My money was returned to my account, however I received an e-mail from Nicole Moore (Fraud and Compliance Manager) stating that my account with them would be closed tomorrow and that I would need to withdraw money on the account. I tried contacting Bank Freedom asking them why the account was closed, but have received no answer. DON'T TRUST THIS COMPANY. THEY ARE SCAMMERS! They closed my account because I filed a complaint with the BBB. Not good business if you ask me.
