Damage during a delivery
|
EDI was hired by us to deliver fresh dates from CA. Few times before delivery was done ok. 1 Delivery came with extensive damage tot eh cargo. The pallet shifted and tilted in the container in such a way that most cargo was damaged as it is fresh fruit. A good business practice and customer service in my opinion is determined also on its ability to handle a problem not only when things are working well. In this regard, EDI express totally failed in my opinion. Claim was filed with pictures to prove it. It took the claim department very long time to even process and respond to it and the manager of the department was very unfriendly and did anything he could to try refuse the claim saying that we are trying to exploit or increase the damage, when we did the bet we could to salvage whatever we could out of the pallet. Pictures show clearly a very bad tilted pallet and squashed dates containers that are unusable. Trucking companies should have cargo insurance to cover in such instances. As a repeat customer, we expected a much better response and cooperation. The fact that the company is trying to put the blame on the customer is a very bad practice and reflects very bad on its customer service. We will not work with this company again and highly recommend to exercise caution dealing with them.
