I called Empire Plumbing Heating and Air on July 16, 2010 to specifically verify that they would service our area, Lake Elsinore, CA. At that time they verified they would, even to the point of locating Lake Elsinore on a map and verifying it is just off the 15 freeway.
I called back the next day, 7/17/10, and made an appointment for 7/20/10. At that time we gave our full Lake Elsinore address again in order to make the appointment. No mention was made of being outside of their service area. But we did have 2 commitments that they would come out.
I took July 20, 2010 off as a vacation day to be home for the service technician. Instead, we received a curt phone message that we are suddenly now not in their service area and they would not be coming. When I contacted the company, all I got was "Sorry, it was a mistake".
This all happened during the first big heat wave of the summer when temperatures in Lake Elsinore topped 110 degrees at times. Had they said up front we where out of their service area, we could have scheduled service with another company and been done with it. Now we are having to find another company and wait another week until they can get here. AC companies are quite busy now as would be expected.
I am very disappointed in Empire and their lack on integrity to honor their commitment. I can maybe understand if the appointment lady was our only contact and she made a mistake. But we spoke with them twice and specifically asked if they serviced Lake Elsinore. If they aren't willing honor something as easy as their appointment commitments, I would be very worried that they might not honor other more important commitments.
