I am disappointed to see this review, especially because many important details were left out with her particular case and assumptions are being made. This client signed a contract with me, one in which she highly benefited from. Cynthia agreed on the contract in which she would be renting $7880.00 worth of product at the very discounted price of $3400.00. Due to this very discounted price, Cynthia offered payment in full. All contract including estimate, sales orders and invoice states very clearly (as does my web site) that any deposit or payment made prior to the event would not be refunded if she should cancel her event. Due to a family ailment, she canceled her event and wanted a refund. I reminded her about the terms of her contract but being sympathetic about the situation I did offer her a credit that she could use at a later date and she declined.
In reference to the cases against me, there are 3 cases; one with ADT, the 2nd with my former landlord, and the 3rd with a client. Due to this economy, I had to relocate my business to a more affordable location and had to break my two year contract lease with both ADT and my landlord. These claims against me do not have anything to do with the service I provide but with the change in overhead needs of my business. The client was happy with my service and rental products, however they decided to extend their event time and keep my product for a longer period of time which in turn accrued additional costs.

I love my job I am very passionate on what I do. There nothing more rewarding then to participate in the joy that a real celebration holds. The tears of happiness when several generations gather to toast one another "and express appreciation for their lives as a family and friends this is what I dedicated my life doing.
It's unfortunate she had to cancel her event, I'm sure I would have done a terrific job decorating and coordinating it. I know she did not get her full deposit back from the vineyard or some of the other services she contracted with and made deposits with. To share a similar story, I too have been in this situation. My mother passed away a few days before her planned birthday party. It was devastating to me. Not only had I lost my mother; I lost my deposits on the caterer, rental location, florist and mariachis. Not one of the vendors offered me a credit that I could use at a later time. I simply lost all the deposits. I did offer Cynthia a credit she could use even though my contract did not mention she could get a credit if she canceled her event. She refused the credit.
