Review 9/11/2010
Public Storage in Fort Lauderdale, Fl 1650 W Oakland Pk Blvd. Public Storage was notified that an individual that my sibling dated a few years prior had stolen all of my parents as well as my sibling's property, literally stole everything out of my parents home as well as stole keys to the warehouse where the cars were stored. When we contacted them, Cesar, (manager)indicated 8/17/09, which was the day after my sibling passed a person by the name of Lashonda Patrice Williams came stating she was his spouse, next of kin, sole owner of the vehicles and demanded a name change on the account. Well they claimed that they had her to present a death certificate she obtained on her own and she had to present a notarized document which she has her friend which we found out later a notary assisting her in fraud and all types of criminal activity, which my parents filed a complaint with the governors office and they researched and found that mother and father of the deceased complaints were valid and he was assisting her in criminal activity, therefore the governors office demanded for his stamp and seal to be submitted for termination. Well if public storage would have viewed the death certificate it stated that my sibling was single and his next of kin was listed which was my parents information for contact. Well my parents pleaded for them to check to be sure the vehicles were still in storage and even told them that though the girl Lashonda Patrice Williams had stolen the title to one of the cars that we had 2 of the titles in another location and we could present them so that they could see we were the rightful owners of the units/cars were and if they did not want us to go in the units for their staff to look in to be sure the vehicles were there. Well, they claimed they were going to freeze everyone out and determine who the rightful owners were but how be ever, she had all ready stolen one of the cars and came back to get another when the units were suppose to be off limits until the complete investigation. We were told she returned, claimed she had a vehicle in there and we had already notified them that all the vehicles in the storage unit belonged to us as per title, but yet they told us the titles served them no purpose as per Michael Kennel the regional manager. Well they were more than happy to tell us no but happily assisted her in theft. Michael Kennel, Chu and Cesar indicated that they told her they could open the storage unit if she had the title, they then indicated she came back they stated in 2 weeks with a guy and the title to the car and they allowed her to steal the car. Well she titled the car out of my sibling's name and into a guy which I was told is her boyfriend. There were small insurance policies on the units that had been paid since getting the units and public storage canceled the insurance, did not honor the insurance, refused to contact her about the stolen cars, would not return our call, we left messages for Alex which he was one of the individuals investigating the matter at the corporate office, legal division. Michael Kennel, regional manager was disrespectful and said he's not discussing the matter as well as the person Chu. We were told it was our business and they have nothing to do with it. I will speak to your attorney. They discovered that my parents were the rightful owner and refused to go and open the units until she took responsibility resigning the contract for the 3 storage units, even though she insisted they should check before giving her the units to be sure the cars are still there. Cesar stated they would not allow him to open until she signs accepting the units as hers, but how be ever we were given empty units, my mom insisted on Cesar accompanying her back to the units and he opened and needless to say the cars were gone. Everyone including the customer service at the front desk was extremely nasty. It was like we were victimized once again. This is not a company I would recommend to anyone as they do not value your property or business. They refused to provide any paper work in which she signed as well as they have in there possession a copy of the stolen title that could assist in locating the cars and refused to provide.
