I purchased my 2002 Honda Accord on August 19th 2007. At that time I opted to have the Xzilon coating put on my car to protect the paint. I was given a 3 year warranty. I noticed that the paint on the roof was fading in the middle of March 2010. I brought to the dealer where I bought my car. They said to bring it back on April 5th 2010 and they will repair it. I received a call later that day from Erica at Xzilon stating that they will not cover the warranty because my car was greater than 3 years old when I purchased it. I review my warranty and it says as stated "Used Vehicle Eligibility: Vehicles that are (3) model years or newer qualify for the same warranty as a new vehicle previously described. The maximum warranty term may not exceed (3) years. Used vehicles older than (3) model years qualify for a maximum term of (3) years coverage. Warranty coverage is limited to complete re-application and does not include painting or replacing." When I contacted Erica about the possibility of my repainting it and just having them re-apply the coating she said that it is not a claimable issue because the damage was greater than 60 days old. I did not notice the fading in my paint until the middle of march, and contacted them immediately after but they stated that it had been occurring to a lot longer than 60 days. The clear coat is supposed to be a protection against fading and oxidation and it has clearly not upheld. Company is not willing to help fix damage that their product is supposed to prevent from happening.
